Steel Shield is your primary defence against corrosion on your precious guns, blades and tools. It forms a long-lasting, self-healing, corrosion-preventing film that is non-greasy with a silky smooth feel.

Special mineral oil/silicone-free formula, provides long protection times, as it doesn’t evaporate or gum like traditional mineral-based oils/gun oils. Non-toxic and derived from renewable resources.

Self-spreading, medium-polarity molecules mean a very thin film is all that is required to produce a highly effective barrier against rust and corrosion. These molecules also mobilise existing oil deposits and dirt, providing an effective cleaning solution for your treasured items, without the use of harsh solvents.

Supplied in a 20ml ‘credit card size’ spray bottle, which provides hundreds of applications and makes it ideal for carry and use in the field. Also includes a microfibre application cloth, which can be stored in the packaging pouch between uses when saturated.

Steel Shield is based on the latest understanding of corrosion inhibition, using a fine layer of a low-viscosity medium-polar ester that evenly spreads across the surface of metal and clings there using electrostatic forces. This property allows the layer to remain cohesive and even ‘self-heal’ when disturbed, providing a complete barrier against moisture and oxygen, and therefore, corrosion. Despite these advanced properties, Steel Shield is entirely derived from renewable and non-toxic materials and is mineral oil and silicone-free.

Steel Shield is ideal for protection of precious metal objects such as shotguns, rifles, knives and tools. Applied using the supplied cloth, any other soft cloth or barrel pull-throughs and jags. With the ability to easily mobilise existing oil, dirt and barrel fouling/carbon, Steel Shield also acts as an excellent cleaning solution that won’t harm lacquers, leather or varnishes.

Unlike traditional mineral-based gun oils, which can be tacky/greasy or even gum up over time, Steel Shield has a non-greasy, silky smooth finish. A low rate of evaporation and non-polymerizing (gumming) quality mean it will provide protection for a long time, up to 2 years (depending on exact storage conditions and disturbance/handling of your items).

Steel Shield provides lubricating properties to moving parts, typically accessible from the outside of a gun, but is not designed to replace a grease used in internal mechanisms as specified by the manufacturer, due to its low viscosity.
